A Walkin We Shall Go...

MS S-U-C-K-S!!!

Five years ago, whenI was pregnant with our first baby, my husband Francois was ickily diagnosed with MS.

"How would you feel if this was yer di-ag-noooosis?" (Maritimers who have seen the commercial I am referring too will insert chuckle here.)

Since then he has been pretty much asymptomatic - Thank God - but you always have in the back of your mind is the unsettling question, "Is today the day?" We've since learned you can't spend every moment wondering about that kind of thing, you just have to live live live. Really, everybody could spend thier lives that way...

" I could have a heart attack today...."

"Maybe a piano might fall on my head or maybe blue ice..."

"I better not go the grocery store I might get into a car accident..."

" I can't use that ATM, I might get robbed by that shady guy over there..."

"If I run with these scissors I may fall and not be able to get back up and soil my new carpet.."

What I can do is get off my slug-butt and try to do something about it! So, little ole me, is going to "Walk for MS" this coming sunday - rain or shine (for those of you close to me who know how very much I enjoy exercise, let alone in the cold wind and rain of an april morning, you will appreciate that I love my husband and want to help stop MS... A LOT!).

I've bugged pretty much everybody I know for MONEY$$$$ and I was pleasantly surprised by how truly supportive my friends and family are! Thank you so much everybody who gave! Hopefully - WARNING: I'm now going to sound either like a charity commercial or a beauty pageant contestant - with research and support all the labbie guys and girls can whip this thing and selfishly I can have my husband back! And you know, he, and so many others, can reclaim thier body as their own not left to the whim of this unpredictable disease. (May contain content from my fund-raising website).

OK, maybe not so much like a beauty contestant...

If you know anyone who is walking on Sunday, please give - it's a good cause.

My website is:

Love and Vaseline on my teeth, (beauty pageant contestant)

Leslie
